Launching Marketing on the Road!

Welcome to my Marketing on the Road blog!  Over the next few months, I will be writing about taking my marketing experience on the road.  I am starting this blog as a team effort for the Smarter Cities team soon to convene in Ahmedabad, India.  To get us started I will write about my most recent marketing experiences.  Recently, I went to San Francisco to work with IBM Systems & Technology Group marketing team on our presence at VMWorld.  One of the largest tradeshows that we participate in with a big 40×60 booth, many speaking sessions and networking opportunities.   20K people attend the event that is full of technical presentations and entertainment.  Loved the partner challenge on  day two! I recommend going to VMWare website and checking out the video replay.

Next week I will be going to Tampa, Florida as part of the CMO ambassador program.  I’ll spend the afternoon with a group of IBM sellers helping them understand what keeps marketing execs up at night.   I might know just a bit about that as I seem to only get 4 hours of sleep a night.  Really looking forward to bringing marketing and sales together around a common goal.

Most of my entries over the next 8 weeks will cover my experiences in  Ahmedabad, India where I will participate with colleagues from around the world on a project for the city.
